Architectural Photography

Photographing architecture is not about photographing buildings. It is about capturing the purpose of the building and the visual creativity of the architect. To do that, the photographer needs to understand form and function, light and interaction, aesthetics and colour.

You have to fall in love with a building in order to photograph it well I think. And I love architectural buildings, especially contemporary designs that propel our ideas of living and work space into new territory.

As an architectural photographer, I work with and understand light, both ambient and artificial. Architects also understand light and I greatly enjoy the discovery of new buildings and their use of light.

Photography is, after all, "Painting With Light".

Architectural Photography: light, perspectives, convergence, aesthetics, colour, structure, interaction, statement, function, material, response.
